Do you have crooked teeth? If so, you may have considered getting braces. Perhaps you do not like the appearance of braces. There are other options available if you do not like the idea of having wire braces. One of those options is Invisalign. This option is ideal because the appearance is clear. The clear removable aligners straighten teeth. The following points will help you to understand how this alternative to traditional braces is beneficial.
Diet
Individuals with traditional braces often have restricted diets. This is because some foods can cause the brackets to break. There are also food options that can adhere to the brackets. Some of these foods are and sugary. Not removing them correctly from the brackets may lead to tooth decay. The aligners that are used to straighten teeth can be removed and reinserted with ease. This will allow you to properly floss and brush your teeth. You also will likely not have a restricted diet. The only exception is if your dental provider advises you to avoid certain foods.
Painless
Some individuals with traditional braces complain about pain when they get their braces tightened. Some individuals also develop mouth sores when their braces rub against the soft tissue in their mouths. You should not be in excruciating pain if you opt for Invisalign. Some individuals may experience slight discomfort each time the proceed to the next set of aligners. This should dissipate. The discomfort comes from the teeth adjusting to the new set of aligners. Any discomfort can be alleviated by taking over-the-counter pain medication.
Healthy
Oral health is important even if you do not have orthodontic appliances. Invisalign ensures that you can brush your teeth without the hassles that many traditional braces wearers have. There are often tedious cleaning steps involved with traditional braces, which can be time-consuming. It is ideal for individuals with busy lifestyles to opt for braces so that they have time to keep up with their day-to-day life. Another issue with traditional braces is that active individuals could get a mouth injury, especially athletes who participate in contact sports.
An Invisalign provider is a good resource to use to learn more about this innovative technology. They can provide a consultation to help you understand whether or not the product is right for you. They can also provide an estimated time frame of how long you can expect to use the aligners.

Halloween is a holiday that my children love, and telling them they can't go door-to-door collecting candy would break their hearts. This led me to allowing them to collect candy on the holiday, then rationing it out to them every day instead of letting them gobble it up in just a few days. I always thought this was better for them, but my dentist told me this could be the reason why their February dental check-ups were always their worst ones. Daily candy consumption was taking a toll on their teeth. I started a new tradition of letting them indulge for two days, then giving them the option to swap the rest with me in exchange for a new toy. They never pass on the opportunity for a new toy. I created this blog to encourage other parents find similar tactics to keep their children's teeth healthy after Halloween.
